چکیده

The MOVE (AC 343) project is dedicated to combine voice and data based services in a single environment. Future personal communicators, i.e. Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) with wireless communication facilities, will allow harmonisation of voice and Internet services using a single access network such as UMTS. The MOVE middleware and its application programming interface (API) for this kind of terminals in conjunction with 3 generation networks will facilitate operation, adaptation and reconfiguration of voice and data calls for a variety of applications such as announcement services for weather, travel, help desks, call centres, and so called ‘What’s-On’ information retrieval, which are cur-

Delivering Integrated Voice and Data Services for Mobile Customers with the MOVE Middleware Architecture

Voice and data services for mobile customers have hitherto been offered only in isolation or loosely coupled, at best. The MOVE mobile middleware architecture enables the integration of voice and data services to a much higher degree. This paper describes how this architecture has been used, for demonstration purposes, to enhance a multimedia service for mobile customers, implemented under the ...

A Mobile Middleware Component Providing Voice over IP Services to Mobile Users

The ACTS project MOVE currently designs and develops a middleware architecture called Voice-Enabled Mobile Application Support Environment (VE-MASE). The VE-MASE enhances the middleware architecture, which was developed in the ACTS project OnTheMove, by providing support for interactive real-time multimedia applications and integrated voice and data services. In preparation for future 3 generat...

Voice/Data Integration in Wireless Communication Networks

Currently the integration of voice and data in mobile communication networks is still in its infancy. Restrictions to multimedia communication are placed by changing quality of service and the use of separate voice and data bearer services. This paper describes how the middleware architecture developed in the ACTS project MOVE provides for voice/data integrated communication even over a single ...
